A FIRE crew from Torrington was called to help secure an overturned meat lorry just after 9am on Thursday April 19.

Crews found the 7.5-tonne HGV, carrying meat, on its side and unstable on the A3124 at Beaford near Winkleigh.

Nobody was trapped but the male driver was suffering from shock and was losing consciousness.

He was conveyed to hospital via the air ambulance, while crews made the vehicle safe.
