PARKLANDS Leisure Centre has appointed a new duty manager in an effort to deliver the best possible experience for the local community.

New manager Ben Harris has worked in the leisure industry for over six years across the Plymouth and Saltash area.

He has a wealth of experience from his time as a swimming instructor and lifeguard and he aims to forge close links between the leisure centre and the community.

Ben has successfully completed courses including the National Pool Plant Operators, First Aid at Work and IOSH Competent Persons Health and Safety.

Ben said: 'I am very excited to join the team at Parklands Okehampton and get stuck into my new role.

I have already met many new faces amongst the staff and customers alike and look forward to getting to know everyone.'

Jon Smith, contract manager, said: 'I am very pleased to welcome Ben as the new duty manager at Parklands Okehampton.

He has joined the team and truly got involved in every aspect of his new role.

'He has made a real effort to get to know members and employees at the centre, and I look forward to seeing him progress in the future.'
