SIX members of Okehampton Running Club took part in the 26th Haytor Heller fell run organised by Teignbridge Trotters. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to next year's race!

The winner was from Ethiopia, the popular event attracting runners from all over the country.

The Haytor Heller lives up to its name, the route starting with a stiff climb up to Haytor Rocks with several more steep ascents and descents along the six miles, but the spectacular views more than made up for the effort involved. Fortunately the earlier showers had cleared and held off for the duration of the race.

Mervyn Rice was the first of the ORCs over the line, followed by Greg Miller who was racing again for the first time since an injury incurred earlier in the year.

Finishing times: Mervyn Rice 55.52, Greg Miller 59.58, Chris Aylen 1.02.11, Marilyn Cooper 1.04.22 (hird V55), Jayne West 1.07 06, Lisa Veale 1.07.07.
