People driving between the A30 east of Okehampton and the Dartmoor village of Belstone are facing a lengthy diversion from next Monday for two weeks.
A stretch of the road leading to Higher Priestacott towards Belstone past Whitehouse Services and the BP garage will be closed from Monday, October 26 for roadworks, likely to take until Friday, November 6.
The work is to install a new electrical connection, according to a notice from highways authority Devon County Council, and is being carried out by Rock Power Connections.
A diversion route will take those trying to reach Belstone from the Okehampton direction on a detour further east via Whiddon Down and Sticklepath.
The diversion will be signed and is given as: Tongue End Cross to Bude Farm, past Taw River Inn, Homefield Farm to Drybridge, Homefield Farm to Fire Stone, Firestone Cross to Livaton Cross, Harlyn to Whiddon Court, Exeter Road Tongue End Junction, Tongue End Junction to Whiddon Down Junction, and vice versa.
