THE weather hit many football matches including the George Belli Cup round one tie between Chagford FC and Waldon Athletic, which was postponed.

In the Bill Treeby Cup round one it was Ipplepen Athletic Reserves 0 Chagford Reserves 0 but unfortunately the match was abandoned by the referee before it went into extra-time.

John Pearce of Chagford FC told the Times: 'With the firsts match, in their divisional cup at home to Waldon Athletic, frozen off it was down to the Reserves to make a show, in theirs. Despite a decent show against the promotion favourites of division five, Chagford were denied a result as the referee abandoned the match with the pitch refreezing.

'Both Chagford teams will have to try again this weekend.'
