Devon and Exeter three

Cheriton Fitzpaine 2

Chagford 2

DESPITE having relinquished a two goal lead, Chagford maintained their recent form.

Last week’s scorers, Barkwill and Davis netted again, the latter again with a penalty.

The Cherries made their comeback complete in the last ten minutes, although Chagford can look back on a decent performance from themselves.

Devon and Exeter eight

Chagford Reserves 1

Stoke Arms United 2

FOR the second week running Chagford Reserves went down by the odd goal, after a reasonable effort.

The situation looked promising, on 12 minutes, when Adam Roddy pounced on a goalkeeping error and knocked the ball into an empty net.

From there, the match was evenly shared but both sides seemed a little goal shy and it was not until the second half that United were able to carve out a result, mainly by long balls over the top of the home defence - nicely placed for an attacker to gather.

Chagford’s biggest problem is their lack of goals. Westaway battled well up front but was often an isolated figure, in need of a partner to feed off him and poach that most valuable commodity.
