Several ORCs ran the Polruan Shuffle on Saturday – Charlie Temperley, Adam Stonehill, Mike Saywell, Kathryn Volkelt-Igoe, Janet White and Jessica Corcoran.

The race itself follows Cornwall’s scenic southern coast path from Looe to Polruan. As expected, it was very hilly in places with around 2,500 feet of elevation over the 12.5-mile distance making it a demanding challenge!

Charlie Temperley was the first ORC home in an excellent ninth place in 2:16:18. He was closely followed by Adam Stonehill (11th, 2:16:36), Mike Saywell (13th, 2:16:52). Kathryn Volkeit-Igoe, Janet White and Jessica Corcoran came in together in 3:56. Kathryn was first in the FV60 and Janet was first in the FV70. Great running from the ORCs again – well done to everyone.

Also on Saturday, Sam Priday travelled to Loughborough for the UK Inter-County Cross Country Championships.

Sam enjoyed a great run and came in 6th in Devon and 81st in a field of 176, in an impressive time of 32:12.

Jo Page ran the Logicom 10k in Pathos and the weather was not what Jo expected when entering a 10k in Cyprus. Cold and wet with strong wind making it feel like two degrees rather than the forecast of eight degrees.

The rain stopped briefly for the runners at the start but returned with the strong headwind for the last three miles of the course.

The course was a lovely out and back along Pathos seafront starting and finishing at Pathos’s iconic castle in the harbour.

Jo crossed the line in a time of 45:46, ninth female and first female 30-39. Well done Jo on an excellent run.
