A YOUNG boy from Okehampton with Down's Syndrome will find learning both easier and more enjoyable thanks to the Okehampton United Charity and the Mary Budding Trust.

Kieran Wilkins, aged 6, is a pupil at Okehampton Primary School. Okehampton United Charity has paid £266 to purchase him an iPad to help him with his learning. When buying the iPad, the charity consulted with local charity the Mary Budding Trust to ensure Kieran got exactly what he needed.

Kieran's mother, Janet Wilkins, said: 'This iPad has really brought Kieran on. It helps him to concentrate, and is something he engages with really well.

'We are very grateful to the United Charity and the Mary Budding Trust for their support.'

Karen Percival, clerk of the Okehampton United Charity, said: 'It is great to see our money helping someone so directly, but for us the link with the Mary Budding Trust is crucial.

'They have the expertise to ensure our money is used to help in the best way possible.'
