OKEHAMPTON will hold its annual Remembrance Parade on Sunday, November 12.

The parade led by the Okehampton branch of the Royal British Legion will form in Fore Street opposite the town hall at 10.25am before marching off at 10.30am.

On arrival at All Saints Parish Church, there will be a short service of remembrance at the town’s War Memorial in the churchyard, followed by two minutes’ silence and the laying of wreaths.

A church service will then follow until around noon when the parade reforms to march back to town. Once back in Fore Street the town mayor Councilor Jan Goffey will be invited to meet the parade participants.

‘The Okehampton Branch of the Royal British Legion welcomes the residents of Okehampton and surrounding areas to support the parade and join with them in paying homage to the fallen of the two world wars and more recent conflicts,’ said a branch Royal British Legion spokesman.
