ON Sunday, North Tawton Bowling Club held their annual ‘Pub Day’ competition, with 14 teams from local inns taking part.

The event, organised again by bowlers John Kinsey, David Nicks and Lloyd Reynolds, was a great success with kind weather.

Club president Mike Thwaites said: ‘It was a joy to see the beautiful grounds and clubhouse being enjoyed by so many of the town’s folk. It was a great day with thanks to all the club members who worked to achieve a grand total of £2,558.’

The eventual winners were The Copper Key A team of Paul Ayres, Martin Hann and Richard Gould, who collected the Pub Trophy presented by Stan Friend.
