The Tavistock police team have seen a rise in reports of battery and fuel oil thefts recently in light of rising cost. Police are urging people to check their fuel oil tanks. Owners are encouraged to consider obscuring tanks from sight if possible and restricting access to tanks. CCTV and security sensor lights also prove an effective deterrent. If you discover your fuel has been taken or your tank has been tampered with, please report it to the Police using Tel 101, email via the Devon and Cornwall Police website or call 999 if you see the offence happening.
