MORE than 800 people enjoyed a great day of sports and activities for all at the OCRA Super Sports Funday in Simmons Park on Sunday.

Local sports charity OCRA, working with Fusion Parklands, Okehampton Hockey, cycling and running clubs and Tavyside Badminton, put on a jamboree of over 20 different have a go sessions and competitions.

Stuart Lord, OCRA manager, said: ‘It was great to see families and people of all ages being active together, trying new sports, having fun and enjoying the sunshine. Thanks to clubs and individuals, Fusion, Devon County Council, Okehampton Town and Hamlets Councils, Co-op, Okehampton United Charities and local business for their support. If clubs or individuals would like to add or help with next year’s Active Okehampton event, please contact us.’

The event is the culmination of the OCRA Sports and Fitness Festival, a week of activities encouraging people to take up new sports and physical activities.
