Following months of preparation, the North Tawton Squirrels group is set to hold its first meeting this month on April 28.

The group, known in the Scouts as a drey, will be invested a month later in a ceremony at North Tawton Rugby Club, which the mayor of Credition will attend.

Drey leaders also hope that the newly inaugurated mayor of Okehampton will attend, following the mayoral election.

The new scouting group for a younger age group, which will cater to children aged four and five, was set up in response to popular demand as more and more parents want their children to join the Scouts.
