Devon County Council has launched a Farming Recovery Programme with a series of workshops, including one in Okehampton, to help farm businesses improve soil and nutrients management of their land.

These workshops are being held all over the county in the next month to help farmers and landowners improve the condition of their soil.

A total of eight will be run, held virtually and in person by Business Information Point (BIP) on behalf of the county council. They aim to support farmers and landowners to better understand their soil with the aim of improving environmental standards and tackling the current challenges of rising energy costs and increasing price of fertiliser.

The workshop in Okehampton will be held on Thursday, March 10, 11.30am-2.30pm at Okehampton Business Centre (EX20 1FJ). Other workshops will be taking place in Crediton, Dartmouth and Colyton. They include a classroom session and a practical session on a local farm.
